Michael was my older brother. He may not have been able to do a lot, as far as the world goes, but he had a happy spirit, a loving nature, and so much courage. Even though he was always in pain, he had a beautiful smile and he would giggle a lot.
There were some things that could always make him laugh- rumble strips on the side of the road were his favorite. His favorite songs were "Praise Him" and "Because He Lives." Bouncing beside him on the couch would usually make him laugh. He loved wrapping paper. Not in the rolls, he would rip it apart after the presants were opened. He had some favorite toys- plushies that squeaked- and a pullstring owl that would play a song- it was tied to the ceiling and after it was pulled, he would swing it around. Oddly enough, he liked beets. My mom would make him beet juice popsickles (I know, it sounds nasty), and he loved them.
