Names

Why do people at work assume I know their names? I know the names of people who work here, from the phone list I have. I know the faces of people who work here from everyone saying hi when they come in (after I get here) and when they leave (before I leave). But there are no nametags. There are no names on the doors or cubicles. No one introduces themselves to me.

And then people wonder why I don't know if Chuck or Bob or Jane is in. How should I know? This is not World of Warcraft, where everyone's name hovers above their head. Though that would be awesome.
